  1. Dear Brianna,
The Civil War had 3 major battles. The Fist battle was Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter was an important battle because it was the first battle of the Civil War. The fist shot was made by Lieutenant Harry.S.Farley of the Confederate Army. The Confederate Army won the first battle of the Civil War.The Second battle was the battle of Antietam. That battle was important because the battle stands out as the bloodiest single day war. When this battle ended 2,108 Union Soldiers were dead ,and 10,293 were missing. But most importantly Lee was was repelled in an attempt to invade the North, and hopefully gain recognition of the Confederate government by European powers. The third battle was called the Battle of Gettysburg. This was an very important war it was the turning point of the Civil War. The Confederate army was moving it way to the North. The Union went from losing the War to winning the war.The Appomattox courthouse was important because It is where the South Surrendered to the Union army of the North. This event ended the Civil War.

  2. Jessica tuck says:

There were three major battles. The first battle was on fort Sumter. This is located in Charleston South Carolina. The south opened fire first. Lieutenant harry fired the first shot. This battle is important because these were the first shots fired in the Civil war. It took 33 hours for the north to surrender. The south won the first battle there was. The battle of Antietam was the most bloodiest war in american history. At the end of the battle 2108 soldiers from the union were killed. 10318 men were killed from the south were killed. This was the bloodiest day recorded in american history. the battle of Gettysburg took place in Gettysburg ,Pennsylvania. The union did this battle to stop the south from going any further up north. This battle is considered the turning point of the war. The union won this war. the south surrendered because they figured that they were losing to many people. Well just letting you know what i have been thinking. Sincerely ,Jessica
